360º illustration fire and contrast effect. a very enjoyable pice of work. 15 days of study and a very interesting and complex intention behind.

This was my last big piece for knightmodels. whith this one i think i settled the knowledge that i learnt 3 years before when I did the duel between Anakin and Obi Wan.

Here i tried a multiple mixture of Nmm and real metallic, plus shinny, satin and matt colours to achieve high tonal variation to find the way to mix the lighting effect, movement effect as you can see in the wheels, plus the leather effect, colour and light reflections and a convincing mixture of elements .

one of the works i am more proud of.. lots of inspirational nights, surrounded by the smoke of brilliant inner feelings.. one sometimes finds himself between a brush and airbrush. lonelyness is significantly productive .

thsi was seen at san savino last year. some of you could see it in hands. and i was really really happy of the faces i saw. ;). encouraged me a lot to keep on going.

I love this piece, the movement sensation in the wheels, the fire… everything.
I would like to see it in hands!
    Me encanta.
PD: Alfonso, cambiale la escala anda, que la tienes en el mínimo

Great piece. One of the best figures in the market and excellent painting!

Muy vistosa Alfonso, en vivo también, una de tus mejores piezas.

    Alfon!
Figurón!!!! Pero se me ha ido la mano votando. Quería darle a Gold y le he dado a Props…. Perdona, tío.
(Al menos con eso la puntuación total no varía)
Lo dicho: posiblemente junto con el duelo tu mejor figura!

  • Krzysztof "REDAV" Kobalczyk

I always loved this paintjob. This mix of metallic and non metallic is very inspirational. Thx for those step by step pictures :D

Sometimes there are pieces that change the history of artistic movements and move very heavy things: like, f.e, my consideration of minituare painting like art and not hand craft production when I see this period of your work. Only a few hands can imagine, understand and execute something like that. The effect works, it’s amazing. One of the best pieces of the lasts years… Congrats, Alfonso, and keep working!

One of your best works with the starwars duel, not just for the result itself, that its amazing, but the thinking process it’s behind. The black leather it’s really good, you brought illustration effect to a 3d model and you got that work in 360, also with the NMM what it’s for me the most difficult part.

I still have one to paint and I would like to start it as soon as I can using this as a reference. Not copy all the interpretation as I did maybe with the abyssal but trying to face the miniature and solve all the problems that will appear during the process, and learn about. Inspiring work, and innovative!

I miss see thing’s like this nowadays..hope someday you get the brushes again!

    Take care!

    Marc

Dear alfonso, it took me some time to understand my lack in knowledge about these many little things in your piece creating this incredible scene. I realized just right know that I have a long way in front of me ;)

  • Basilisk (David Mommel)

Uno de mis favoritos sin duda. Ya sabes lo mucho que me gusta, todo lo que tiene para enseñar y mostrar. Perfecta.
