This is my newest bust that I sculpted and painted for my own range. It depicts a British soldier who was rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk. As many of you have already recognized, the face of this bust is inspired by a famous British rock star. The references photographs of smiling soldiers rescued from Dunkirk reminded me of their optimism that was the power to eventually lead them to the position of winner so I thought that cheeky but determined look on his face (IMO) would perfectly fit to this subject to express my empathy with the situation at that time.
