I’ve been painting mainly board game figures on and off for the past 30 years to a table top standard, I lost touch with the art of fine figure painting to a display standard after winning gold at golden demon in 1995 as I had achieved my goal .....the grail gold! I couldn’t really believe it at the time, it was my first time entering and didn’t really paint anything to the same standard for years due to time, other interests and life basically. That is…until now, I realize how I’ve missed out on such a rewarding side of the hobby.
The work produced nowadays is far…...FAR! beyond that of the 95 demon and sadly my skills to, I’m under no illusion here I’ve never been a natural, I struggle coming up with original ideas, I’m not one of the gifted and I’m not very creative despite trying so I usually see something I like and just copy it that way I know it looks right and I cant mess the colour scheme up .
I’m very much starting from scratch again trying to learn the techniques, getting used to all the mediums and additives for better paint control, I have a long way to go, But most of all I hope to enjoy it.
