Painting minis allows me a respite from the normal grind. My day job is that of a coder/developer/DevOps depending on the moment so the total chaos of liquid paint over surfaces frees my mind up. I enjoy the painting of the hobby far more than most other parts and it allows me to read audio books as I paint.
