As a fan of the Dune series it was great to bring my feelings and memories of the books to life.

I wanted to play with the idea of changing the subject of a bust without converting the bust itself. With the paint alone a miniature artist can change the subject from one well know piece of pop culture to another. For me personally this piece is about the agency of miniature artists. Whether we are slaves to the sculpture or can make our own original work, and are we destined as sculptors and painters to remake popular culture?
