thanks Clive ! painting tartans is time consuming but real fun !

  • Clive Jackson

Yes, great fun Marc! Intricate, but rewarding when you crack it!...Living in Scotland, we kind of have to do a ‘tartan figure’ from time to time, just to keep our hand in! Lol!

    • Marc MussatPLUS

yes I spotted you lived in beautiful Scotland ! :)

  • Emmanuel

    Magnifique Marc!!...Gold!!

As you have posted some discussion about this piece on another piece I have copied the said post here and given a response here as I think the discussion should be tied to the actual piece it is about.

“I appreciate you voting for my Rocroi diorama, but to be perfectly honest I would have preferred you abstaining from voting altogether. When you give a bronze vote this has a terrible impact on the overall mark, as my Jacobite went from gold 90.4 to 88.5 because of your vote. I perfectly understand that you did not like the fig, that’s OK, but giving a bronze vote ! either you do not vote, or you give a silver. My fig has now no chance whatsoever to reach gold again. So think twice before giving away fast bronze votes to anyone, which I never do especially on fanta figs which are not my specialty.  Marc”

  • Mads Jespersen

First of all, I must comment that what you are suggesting is not really how the system works. If you only wanted people to vote gold the “bronze, silver and gold” medals could just be removed and then have a “props” button instead of leaving out the idea of a score or medals at all. Secondly, I think it needs to be said that the system is not a hot-or-not system but an if-it’s-great-award-it system so simply giving it a medal means that someone thinks it deserves a medal.

  • Mads Jespersen

With that being said I gave this entry a bronze in accordance with the system’s guidelines. I based my idea that it deserved a bronze mainly on the paintwork as I found that to be the focus but the base, mood, effort etc. was also factored in. Based on that I found the piece worthy of a “good work” and rated it like that. (I did not find it to be “awesome” or “top-notch - impressive in any way” which is why I did not give it silver or gold). This was not in any way a “fast bronze vote” and is not based on “specialty” etc. as I don’t consider myself having any “specialty”.

All that being said I enjoy your works but am sorry that me giving it a medal on P&P have led to frustrations on your part about this specific entry score.

    • Marc MussatPLUS

pity you did not get the message ... never mind

  • Eduardo Garcia Lope

I don´t know for sure,  how the votes, gold, silver and bronze work here. From what I understand, the bronze subtracts points, in my humble opinion every vote should add in consonance with the metal value , but not subtract.
    It’s just a suggestion.

    • Marc MussatPLUS

Yes Eduardo , that was the point I was trying to explain…
      I entirely agree with you.
The voting system on P and P make bronze votes killers…
I already had this discussion with a few master painters , and we came to the same conclusion .
But never mind , lets not forget that this a hobby and I am not a professional painter.

I have a question for you Marc, what is supposed to be going on where the shirt opens at the neck?

    • Marc MussatPLUS

      Hi !
I think it is just the shirt’s lacing wich is rather loose…
