The Battle of Hattin took place on 4 July 1187, between the Crusader states of the Levant and the forces of the Ayyubid sultan Salah ad-Din, known in the West as Saladin. It is also known as the Battle of the Horns of Hattin, due to the shape of a nearby extinct volcano.

I want to thank Dmitry Fursov from Medieval Forge Miniature for offering me this beautiful figure.

I changed the flag, which was made from a thin copper sheet.
A lot of work went into freehand painting .

    It will be a while before I tackle this one Marc, I had been thinking about doubling it up with a bust of Saladin (which I have in the ‘to do’ box), as both a means of doing something a little different and also maximising my stock of bases! Lol!…Those Islamic designs are inspirational!
