Object Source Lighting (OSL) creates a light affect by an element near or on the miniature and needs to be very strong to replace the principal light (zenithal, lateral, general…) that is typically used. The source can be a torch, a magical light on the hands (or other area), a magical staff, etc. The light can be a suggestion (such as from a fire off of the base) or it can be from a source that is visible on the miniature.
In using OSL several areas are affected:

The first one is that the shadow and the lights are created by the source.

The second is the influence of the colour of the light.

In regards to Athela, the blue influence of the torch is in opposition with the small warm red tones of the skin, the yellow tones of the stones and the gold.
