She was a challenge to paint and photograph. I'm not the best at taking pictures and lighter backgrounds are not my friend, but it turned out semi-decent..ish.
I planned out the whole colorscheme beforehand, but in the end I did change the colors for the weapon, I wanted to go with grey and then blue gems, but I think the red gems tie the model together just that little bit better. It's mostly just a feeling and this way made me happier with the model :)

C&C is always appreciated :)

PS: I took some more pictures and they look better than the old ones I think. I left the old ones up as well for comparison. They look less overexposed and more natural.

You did a great job of smooth blending on this piece, and the color planning worked well!
It seems like there could be a bit more effort on the base around her; it doesn’t need to be much, but it seems just a little too empty.
The photos also aren’t doing her justice. She may do better with a darker background, more that are cropped closer, and you could try playing with the focus - it is good but something seems slightly off. I’m no photo master - just look at the ones I did to see that. But it could help if someone who is a photo master gave some more precise pointers here :)

      Thank you :)
The base was meant to be a barren rock, I originally planned her as more of a diorama with her overlooking a necron. A bit like how they showed her in the teaser video. I didn’t have enough time for this so it is an idea that is shelved but not forgotten for now :)

I am horrible at photography unfortunately. I’ve had a million of tips from friends, from people online and I cannot seem to make it work. I did want to try taking a picture with a dark background as well, but since my aim is to enter her in the MPO competition a light background is required.

Thanks alot for your comment though, this made me realise I need to fiddle around some more and see if I can somehow get better at taking pictures. Maybe someday I’ll get the hang of it without wanting to throw my camera out the window :D
