The second figure in the 1014 project is of Sigurd the Stout of the Orkneys. The Viking warlord for the Orkney contingent that fought along their Dublin Viking brethren and the Lenister men against the forces of Brian Boru High King of Ireland.

This is also a 75 mm figure from Romeo Miniatures swinging the famous Viking battel axe. This nasty fellow met his nasty end on the fields of Ireland.

Like the other figure he is represented bursting out of the Norse annals from which we garner our historical record of the battle. and this is scratch built using balsa and various paper sorts. The pages were also treated to the tea and coffee treatment to get the weathered effect.
