“Enemy at the gates” Siege of Vienna 1683
“Enemy at the gates” Siege of Vienna 1683
Ok guys! Here is one more, you had been warned!
This 54mm scratch built diorama shows the defenders of Vienna during the Turkish siege in 1683. This i indeed one of my all time favorite parts in history.
This diorama was a great chance to practice on painting a monochrome scene, something I truly enjoy.
When working on a diorama like this, composition is everything. From placement of the figures, the colors, directions of lines, backdrop, levels, etc, everything should work together. To get full control of this I even added those stone rabble stone by stone, carefully added one by one... But t was worth it!
Diorama made in 2016.
And yes, I will add some new stuff as well soon... !

Bill was, and always will be, a huge inspiration to me, his animation and composition.
Without his work and without all the articles he wrote, I would probably be collecting stamps instead!!!
