Thank you very much Eric!
Stunning work with an important message! Obviously gold from me!
Thanks for your vote Jim! :)
Great piece of art, I love it. Superbly painted, I really like the use of warm red here. Pity that it’s not some kind of box art, would get insta editors pick and recognition, instead of just hanging in populars for few days.
Hey Natalia! thank you very much! You know how capricious editors is xD it’s always been like that sadly
Thanks Tim ;)
Love painting and atmosphere!
Thank you very much!!
This is art !
She speaks to me…beautiful!
Excellently painted figure, and a really good message in your text!
The setting and painting are spectacular, and the idea behind it is good !
However, it is a pity this is once again a miniature of a naked woman, therefore not very original…
I think that is hardly a rule that being naked makes it unoriginal. Imagine if that was a rule in canvas art. I think for me, it is about using this nakedness as an expression of vulnerability - and not sexualizing it. But I respect your viewpoint, but respectfully disagree - I think it is a very brave piece, both sculpt and paint.
Also, disclaimer: I own Nordlys Miniatures currently housing digital file, and admit that I gave it a lot of thought, also because of the theme and nakedness. But my conclusion is the opposite of yours.
@Jakob Villien I understand your arguments, and it is nice to see that you thought a lot around this miniature. However, I can’t help but think that using female nakedness as a representation of vulnerability is a bit of a cliché - plus the fact that naked female body are overrepresented in miniatures ; I think using a male body, or even better, a non gendered-looking body, would have served its purpose better.
And I know naked body are frequent in art, but I feel that the over-representation of (often sexualized, generally with non realistic aesthetics) naked female body in miniatures is disturbing.
Thank you for giving visibility to these struggles through this wonderful piece. A much needed statement wonderfully executed.
Fantastic! I just printed mine.
Impressive skin tone and reflections. GOLD!!
