Stormboy - WH40K
Another 6 year old WIP project finished on which I tested out some acrylic gouache paints.
Trying to become faster at painting using more opaque paints and layers with more mixtures on the palette. Developing a more loose style but still achieve strong contrast and defined shapes. So a dance between not loosing to much smoothness but not putting too much time into working with thin paint layers to gradually build up the colors and softening blends but becoming more bold and becoming more confident in sketching and blocking in highlights and shadows :)

Also please tell me what you think about the photos.
I got my camera stand and some additional lights.
    My light setup is now:
    -Painting lamp from above
    - Video light screens from left and right (slighlty from the front)
    - My old Ikea painting lamp with paper diffusor from the front and below

Without the light from below the whole body would have been pretty dark in the shadow since he’s leaning forward pretty much.
