It is a lovely 54mm sculpt, which I loved because of its aesthetics and pose. This project shown to be more demanding than I initially anticipated. I wanted to have dark robes and clothes and then I decided that I should not paint everything like that. I decided to go with a more forest theme and a more classical elven look.
I knew I wanted to try using more colour on the sword and try putting more environmental influence into the project. As I painted it in all in oils, I wanted to experiment with adding different colours into mixes and I think it will work great once I get a lot of practice.
The moss base was a joy and I enjoyed putting the individual moss pads on the base. The flower petals were taken from a Lai and his great tutorial.
One thing I've noticed is that the miniatures start to look better in hand than in pictures. And I know that is the most important, nevertheless it is frustrating.
I am happy with the figure but if I know the face and sword could use more contrast. Amd overall better definition is needed. I think that once I uncover ow to define shapes better in oils, I will get better as it will all stand out more. If I were to paint it again I would change the colours, and stick with my original idea to use more greys, browns and blacks colours.
