This is my take on Patrik Hurtig/Nordlys Miniatures fabulous John Bauer miniature. I have had an obsession of Bauers paintings since I was a kid and we had a replica of this particular painting in my childhood home so when I saw Patrik's first 3D-sketches I just knew what I wanted to do if and when I could put my hands on a actual physical miniature.
So in December 2023 when the miniature arrived I started the framed diorama a la Roman Lappat style. Painting did then continue from time to time and completed earlier this year. WIP-pictures on my Instagram

95% of the whole figure and diorama was painted with a limited palette in the style of what J Bauer used. Ivory black, titanium white, raw umber, burnt umber and a second raw umber with a more greenish tone.
