Moon & Antarctica 3: History sticks to my feet

Way back in 2001 I was living in Copenhagen and had just started university. My life was a disaster, and I moved into a dorm with a duffel bag, a foam mattress and my scars. I didn’t know that I’d just met my future wife, and that everything was going to be ok. But was just a lost child.

Everywhere was a party everywhere. At the dorm and at the university. Thursday, saturday, friday and sometimes sunday. And I was trying so hard to be extremely social all the time, with a lot of strange feelings because I felt pretty terrible. I ignored the need to withdraw, because I felt like it was expected of me. I had at the just discovered the Mountain Goats, Modest Mouse and Bright Eyes, I took everything in vividly. No filters. All emotions. Listening to some of this music, I was walking by a gallery in the city, there was this huge canvas with bright pink letters, and I just stood there in disbelief. The simplest things can make huge impacts.

Years later I return to this simple sentiment, and gradually accept, that what is a wonderful time to some can be a challenge to others. And toss the guilt in the bin.

Functionless art is simply tolerated vandalism.

Model is the now derelict gorgeous ‘Wanderer’ from Nordlys Miniatures. This is my third piece with it.

That's cool. As they say, whatever happens, everything happens for the best. Often looking back at the past, only then can we appreciate its value.

Whilst that may not be true, it is definitely true, that most can be overcome and forces to something useful. Thanks so much!
