About 10 years ago I did a scene with a hobbit (Olfo from Andrea Miniatures) and a giant spider. This was my chance to revisit that theme and see how much I've grown as a painter in the past decade. The figure is the brave halfling from Iván García Gonçalves. The scenery and spiders came from various 3D sources, printed, and then converted to create the scene.

I liked the tension in Iván's sculpt, with concerned look on his face and the pose looking up at some threat. I tried to build on that, with the spiders closing in around him and the pose staring up at perhaps some even larger spider coming in from where the viewer is standing.

Very neat painting and scary diorama around. Not my playground but…beautiful nonetheless.
