With this miniature, I wanted to bring a specific vision to life – the idea of a shaman or wizard drawing magical energy straight from the Earth’s core and channeling it through his staff and out of his open hand.

The entire concept was built around the OSL effect from a secondary light source, which I tried to integrate throughout the whole scene – from the glowing crack in the base to the burst of energy emerging from the figure’s hand. The miniature itself naturally lent itself to this idea, and I was curious to see how well I could bring the concept to life. I also wanted to practice my OSL technique – there’s always something new to learn, and I hope I’ve managed to pull it off at least partially.

Painting this smaller figure was a relaxing and enjoyable break from my larger projects. I’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback!
