I wanted to paint this bust as if she was half submerged in water rather than using a brass rod like I usually do, so to make that work I had to try to sculpt more to her lower body below the waistline and a bit extra with the rock to get the alignment I had in mind.
With the painting I tried to lean towards the basilisk theme with the colour choices, rather than paint her more human-like.
