I have been struggling this year with painting, a lot of started projects that never got finished, or straight up not enjoying what I was painting.

That changed after having a feedback session with Erik Swinson where he said “take your time, it’s not like it’s your job”. And that just clicked with me. He’s right, it is not my job. I can enjoy it when I’m feeling it, and not pressure myself to go paint if I would rather do something else.

That meant I spent 3 months painting this figure, the longest I ever spent on a single project. And I really really enjoyed.
I did have a massive panic at the end doing snow, and I might still have to comeback and tweak it, but I’m happy with it and feel like I’ve learned and improved.
