Ironheart Repairs
Click, clank, cluck. Rosie took a deep breath. The old garage smelled of metal, dust, and oil. All familiar smells of the old family business, Ironheart Repairs. Ironheart robots use to be plentiful. They did all types of tasks. From dangerous heavy lifting to delicate fine work. These machines could do it all. They were a mechanical marvel. But decades ago their eyes grew dim. At first one and then another became dormant. They weren’t violent or dangerous. They simply stopped. Within a few years all Ironhearts had stopped. Mechanics tried a variety of measures to bring them back. But nothing worked.
Society moved on. New bots were created to do the work, but they lacked the soul of the Ironheart. While cleaning out the garage, Rosie came across an old Ironheart, 7, and plans from her grandfather. A way to restore the most delicate part of the machine. It’s heart. Was it possible? Rosie had to find out.

This is my latest diorama. One I’m very proud of, Ironheart repairs. A tribute to the wonderful work of Raffa and Roman of Massive Voodoo. A big thanks to everyone who helped along the way but especially to Ben and Alfonso for the guidance and to Dave Phillips and Jason Frye for their help in building the scene. Thank you all gentlemen.

Ironheart was fortunate enough to win the diorama category at Nova’s Capital Palette and Best of Show in 2025. I hope you enjoy the piece.
