Another caricature from Amadeu Aldevert, and printed by Dragon Miniatures. I love the scale of these busts and the painter-friendly surfaces and shapes.

Here I wanted to paint the piece in somewhat diffuse light. Perhaps a late afternoon duel with a dusty sky scattering the sun a bit. I also wanted it to sit in that spot I like so much, between realism and the cartoon caricature drawings you buy from street artists. I am pleased with how it turned out. The palette was fairly limited, painted mostly with heavy body acrylics this time. The skin and his hat/jacket, for example, are the same 4 or so tones, with only a little burnt umber in the fabrics separating them. That was a fun exercise.
