This diorama is special to me.
I've had the idea of reproducing Norman Rockwell's painting "The Connoisseur" in mind for at least 20 years... and I've had the Andrea Miniatures Undertaker figure (ref. S4-F36) for just as long.
But I lacked a real idea for interpreting the scene in 3D, so as not to simply make a copy.
The passing of Danilo Cartacci at the beginning of 2025 was the event that crystallized what I wanted to do.
My goal was to finish the diorama for the SMC in October 2025. For me, there couldn't be a better place to share this diorama than the setting of the event in Eindhoven. I don't know how to explain it better, it just felt right.
In one month, the diorama was finished.
