The topic of NMM is one that always fascinated me. I've never been a fan of "SENMM" but I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and try it. With NMM we often hear the phrase "it doesn't work in real life" which I always found very funny. It's like the viewer expect to be tricked in real life as if it was some sort of magic but the reality is that it's only acrylic paint over a resin model, the key is to make it look interesting and beautiful, not to trick you. Think about it, if you are in front of a good NMM and you think that it's not working because you are seeing the paint
... What are you expecting? It is paint.
That "tricking" effect is a consequence in pictures because we are seeing the "same" as we would in a picture of a real metal but it's just that, a consequence.
It's true that in some cases and Social media made it turned out to be the goal but I don't believe in that. I like seeing beautiful paint on a model. I like seeing the brushstrokes in some capacity if I look close enough.

I guess all this is what I had to remind myself before tackling this project, I was afraid to do a reflective NMM because it's more difficult to trick in real life but then...I don't want that.
I am very happy I didn't listen to my chicken side and went for it, I had a lot of fun and even if it's not perfect I truly like it.
