One of my entries for the Crystal Brush competition. I made a few minor conversions to the model. The shield was moved to his back and a strap and hunting horn were added. I wanted to do a winter themed piece, so I used a palette dominated by blue, grey, and brown. Because the figure is not too complicated, I did some freehand design work on his clothing. The design is based on an old Northumbrian artifact, the same artifact that is the basis for the helmet sculpt on the figure!

Although the base is simple, I still tried to tell a story with it. This guy is out in the snow hunting, but it's not for an animal!

All in all, a fun figure to paint. I hope you like what I came up with.
