Probs for the lighting and texture!
Thank you! I heard some second hand advice that “nothing should be smooth except female elf skin” so I’m trying to figure that out…any tips on where to add more texture?
Dont think its missing more texture, you can overdo texture and that just makes the model messy. What I would like to se, is for the metals to get a bit more love. Especially the fist seems left unattended compared to the rest of the model. Also, the blue light on his backpack seems very spot-like and not natural.
Jens, thank you for being so specific! This is really going to help as I’m painting a second version (although different chapter) of this model right now.
My pleasure, you are more than welcome. Keep up the good work! You are welcome to sent me some constructive critisms aswell on my projects if you feel like it.
It’s very nice. Too much light on the photos, also I would like to see him more incorporated to his environment. Maybe some dust on his feet or cape or st least some reflected colors in the armour or metals. Still very very clean and nice!
Thank you Neil! I agree that this would be better tied into the environment of the base, so I’ll add that to the list for next attempt.
My thinking was that, I’ll use thin glazes of the primary color for the base to build up a bit of coloration around the bottom; do you have any alternate suggestions? Cheers!
