Hi guys,
I tried to improved my skin painting skills on this work and to get out of my comfort zone.

Hope you like it, and please give me some painting advice.

I think you did an awesome job. I would suggest using a more similar palette of colours with your painting style. Love it

Can you explain more what do you mean about the palette of colours?

    • Jakob VPLUS

Hello again Sara. Well basically, it just means that you use a smaller range of colours, so that the cloth is the same tone as the skin, and so forth. I really like you painting style on the skin. And there are many beautiful tones in that. Let’s say you mix in Greens and blues. The do that in the basic mix (very little) in all pieces of this mini. Just so the overall feel is coherent. At the moment it feels like the cloth and the skin is from a different mini. You asked for feedback, so I felt I should mention.  Gave you a great vote, so I dont feel the mini is not working in any. I just suggest you try the same effects you used on the skin on the rest of the mini, both brushstrokes and choice of basic mix in colours. There is no right recipe. It Can be Mixed in with highlight, base or Shadow. you might choose to use Sun yellow in all highlights, or blue. Or, you could use Brown or Dark blue on basetones. Or use a really Dark Brown in all shadows, suggesting the reflecting light is the same on all areas.

I dont know if it Makes sense. It is a taste thing, and I prefer it like this. Take a look at my stuff, maybe Cormac, and elf rider and see if you Can tell what I mean. Happy painting. Great job again

Yes, totally get what you mean. After finished the piece I see the cloak and the cloth seems a little bit off. Thanks for the advice.
