There is no doubting your freehand skills, they are awesome. But your pieces are let down by the basing. Why did you put it on a gaming base? Why not a plinth and vary the level of the ground a bit? Archers would have set up on hills, if possible, with a good view.
Thank you! I agree that kind of setup would add to the overall look. The thing is that I did not paint these figures for a show or competition, but directly for sale. Many collectors like all their figures to be on thin bases, so they’re at the same level on a display shelf. That is why I did not put them on plinths or other elevated ground
