The people of Innsmouth were gradually turning into Deep Ones through interbreeding with them and worship of Dagon. They looked increasingly unsavory and was shunned by the outside world as much as they shunned the outside world themselves. The city was apparently a ghost town... but looks can be decieving...

I love reading H P Lovecraft and painting this bust made me reread "The Shadow over Innsmouth"
