Around the start of the year I participated in the fundraiser Brushes for the Bush. Offering up The Wise Woman to be painted by me, to the clients desired specs.

Which was dark. Good thing it is something I enjoy, it all goes smoother then.

I used a lot of Anthraquinone Blue from Golden Acrylics - A damn powerful deep dark blue for the shadows, mixing it with Dioxazine Purple if I wanted it darker. I don't like using black on the models themselves, the shadows look dead to me. I just keep it for the plinths when I have black ones.

Got her well and truly painted up in the time frame... even with all the feathers.
Client loves it, and I'm glad to see it go to a good home, for a good cause.

Love the use of purples and blues, gives it a great atmosphere.  And you clearly took such care with the feathers.
