Usually, various patterns were depicted on the shields of gladiators. The hypothetical possibility of depicting a duel of gladiators on a shield is confirmed by an authentic figurine of myrmillon with a clear image of two gladiators.
Images from ancient Roman mosaics were used as a sample for the drawing.
