This piece developed over a couple of days. I started by converting an astronaut to look like he was running away from something but I hadn't really figured out what I wanted him to be running away from until I found the raptor model which fit perfectly so I came up with a little story of an astronaut trapped in the past and trying to survive. He had to find food wherever he could and after stumbling across some seemingly unattended eggs he decided to try his luck and take one, unfortunately for him mother was just retuning and caught him in the act.

I started with the base and sculpted everything out of milliput, a few rocks I found and some dried twigs. I didn't really plan any of the colors before starting and just decided to let my choices be determined by my feelings rather than trying to work from a reference but I'm really pleased with how it came out and it's probably my favorite piece.

      Hi thanks for the comment. Sorry It was worded a bit badly, I didn’t sculpt the astronaut or the raptor, just the base. The astronaut is from mr lee’s mini’s but I forget the designer, I just converted it slightly and the raptor is a wizkidz model I found in a local hobby store. I’ve changed the wording slightly to make it clearer :)
