it was painted during a small coaching with oils and skin with my friend Tobias, and it was fully enjoyable. It is such a great little model.


the paintjob is meant to be really simple. And I left the natural shine of the oils there as I quite enjoyed the feel of it.

the nature of the bust is quite sad. She has a very unique subtle expression, and I felt it was interesting to leave her in full natural light with a small positive tattoo, but also sign on her should that she ‘walked into a door’. It is all very soothing and off at the same time. Naked, vulnerable and exposed.

as Tom Waits sings: the large print giveth and the small print taketh away. The tattoo is the large print and the bruise on the shoulder is the small.


eh. I don’t know. Maybe too simple. All the specks and dusts from shipping her back and forth in the box in wet oils and dust all around. But then again, that’s life.
