This wonderful sculpt by Jonatan Monerris from a few years back always seemed to me a perfect Gandalf. I love the scene in ‘The Hobbit’ where the mighty wizard saves the day by imitating the voices of three quarrelsome trolls, and I thought that would make a fun and dramatic moment to imagine as I painted this bust.
