A Rush song again the prompt for a piece. That happens a lot I guess, Rush was a pretty big part of my teen years on. The soundtrack of my life in many ways. I caught every tour from r30 to the curtain fall.
'Sadder still to watch it die, than never to have known it.'
There's my muse, a song dealing with grief and loss, but not death of the flesh, but aging and losing of skill. Reminiscent of sayings such as a 'dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.' (Martha Graham). I can look back at bands and last escapades, and to some extent feel these deaths, but I can also twist and channel them in new ways.
