Painted this figure from FER miniatures as a surprise gift for my dad. He's a Civil War buff and also the person who first introduced me to miniature painting. My dad used to enjoy painting ACW Zouave uniforms and since Ellsworth was, I believe, the first to introduce Zouave style regiments to the union army it was a perfect subject for my gift. Ellsworth also has the unfortunate distinction of being the first Union officer to die in the Civil War.
