The bust is 'The Few' RAF Fighter Pilot from Life Minatures, 1/10 scale.

This bust was a gift for my father last year. Unfortunately he passed away before he was able to paint it, so I made it my most recent project to paint in his stead. I chose to paint the dog after a family spaniel from my childhood so all in all there was plenty of emotion for me while working on this.

As he painted a lot with Vallejo acrylics I used the same here.

I really liked how this piece was sculpted but couldn't decide whether to have it as a goodbye or a return. In the end I went with a return; the pilot welcomed home by his faithful friend, and overjoyed to see her after a rough flight.

This is my 2nd completed bust.
