This wonderful figure is from the Beyond Miniatures KS (Drakoth’s Children). A very challenging piece due to its size mostly (it is quite large). I tried a number of new things on this one. Some I was successful with, others not. Overall this was an exceptionally challenging project that taught me a lot. So while I would change and adjust some elements in retrospect, I’m very glad for the experience. Painted with Scale Artist, Kimera, and some Vallejo MC and AK 3G
I really like it, the light on both figures is lovely, if feels like either sunrise or set. Her dress is really interesting and colourful while still reading as white. Her skin lovely and smooth and her face is really well done. Then there’s the lovely light to shadow contrast.
I’d be interested to know what you think you’ve tried but have not succeeded with? I think she’s lovely!
Thank you for all the wonderful feedback, Tim, I was definitely aiming for a sunset scene, so I’m very happy it gave you that feeling. It really is one of those cases where while I am happy with the piece overall, it doesn’t look like what I pictured in my mind - not really easy to describe (or even helpful for me to mention lol). It was one of those projects where I had to think and problem solve so much, that it was hard not to be hyper focused on things that were not working for me. So when I look at it I enjoy it, but I have a more critical/analytical view of it than in other projects where it flows smoothly and I am emotionally connected to the piece. I have no idea if that makes sense at all. I’m just glad you like the piece :)
