My take on "New Skin", while the Depression is cawling up from below, this unknown woman is stripping and showing that she still functions, below her skin she already prepared herself with strong armour. Still, it hurts from the inside, she knows that something is coming. A tear rolls down her cheek, and she knows: also this will pass.
