Done at last! Thank to all who followed this build on facebook and Planet Figure and shared so many kind comments. These beauties are sculpted by Jeff Yagher and released by George Stephenson of Black Heart Models. These are a painter's dream- very little clean up, just a bit of mold line sanding. The only modification I made in the set was to add buttons to Roddenberry's shirt and a scratch built earpiece for Uhura.

All are painted in Scalecolor tube acrylics. I'm more comfortable with oils, so this set was my self directed class in the medium. This was also my first try at non-metallic metal painting, though I did cheat and use some craft store glitter paint on the Gorn and some color shifting paint on Balok, Vina, and the Talosian. I airbrushed a verdaccio undercoat on the flesh (thank you James Rice!) then built skin tones with brush and airbrush.

Next up, the 1/350 scale USS Enterprise with a full light set. It's going to be a beast!

    Very nicely painted, certainly a fantastic job using acrylic colors, even if you are used to working with oil paint. Great resemblance to the characters of the show..
