Thank you very much to Hugo Gomez Briones for the help finalizing the Chicken and making it work so well.

It is very unusual to post a model twice and I wouldn't usually do it but in this case, I think it is an exception. This is my very first time painting a unique sculpture and the model is extremely special to me, Alex did an amazing job with it. The previous version I had posted was the way I had 'finished' the model in a hurry for the Guilds Inn competition and, I had perhaps not spent as much time working on the base as I should have and so over the months since I have been thinking a lot about what I could do to improve it. With feedback from a bunch of legends and a comment about the need for a chicken in the scene because the original artwork on which this model is based also has a chicken it felt like the perfect thing to just help give the scene a little bit more life and story to the scene. I spent a bunch more time on the stone tiles. It wasn't bad before but for some reason I got it stuck in my head that I wanted them to be dark stone. There was a disconnect between the model and the base because the stone was so dark.

I think this change elevates the scene, because I also spent a bit of time fine-tuning some things on the model and more specifically just fine-tuning the finish on some materials there was enough work to justify calling this Mk2. I hope you like it as much as I do, it's certainly one of my personal favorites.

Still a true beauty! I like the little changes and I was checking back with the prior photos. It is not easy to spot them. I bet it is a lot of changes that you as a painter see much more clearly. Lovely! Keep on happy painting!
