When I saw this bust I knew I had to paint it: having two subjects helped me understand how to split the attention between them, playing with lights and tones. I tried to make the human warrior more realistic (adding a real Kamon - the family crest- of the Satsuma clan) to contrast the little Kappa.
This one is really nice. I like how you captured the characters and how you defined the different materials. Well done! This is the only bust by Spira that I did not get (well some older ones too), but everytime I see it painted I think: Damn! Should have bought it! Nice work! Keep on happy painting!
