Here is Nordlys Miniatures Hunter. After Malte Dueholm painted the wonderful boxart I knew I wanted to do something a bit darker and with higher contrast.

I got to try out the new Army Painter Fanatic colours as they sent me a box early, and this was all painted with those colours. Thank you Army Painter!


I really enjoy this bust. Such a powerful expression. Just brilliant. Quite big too.

    The only strange thing in the sculpt it’s a combination of tie, shirt, jacket and gun .
    If he’s at hunt then why did he wear tie and shirt? And if he’s not, then why he loading the gun? So many questions and so few answers )

      Thanks! The clothes are actually inspired by mens hubter’s magazine articles. They are a dapper bunch and go kill dressed to kill. I like the ambiguity in this. Murdering in style.

    The sculpt is wonderful, however, I love the painting you did. It feels tight and tied together well. The colour harmony is great and the shadow with the blue tint get the deepness across very well… However, my favourite detail are the gloves. Used, loved, stained and yet worn, even with a hints of blood. That I really love. Great Piece, Jakob.

      Ah thanks so much. The gloves was one of the final thonga I did. The piece had to feel almost separate to the gloves. Glad you like it.

    Such a strong piece of yours. I like the mood and the ambience you set this in. Storytelling through environmental influances.       Thanks so much, honoured to hear. I always saw him as this jack the ripper type character. Toxic and dark and full of secrets. I wanted the gloves to feel separate almost. Like dark secrets exposed. It is metaphorical, of course, but these blunt hints are fun to do. As they feel contradictory. Thanks so much.
