I finished painting The Immortal Hulk towards the end of last year (2023). Created by Atomic Mass Games for the Marvel Crisis Protocol tabletop miniatures game, The Immortal Hulk is based on a specific iteration of Bruce Banner's alter-ego from a comic run of the same name. Al Ewing's The Immortal Hulk is one of my favourite comic runs so I was very excited when this model was first revealed and knew immediately it was one I'd want to take my time with.

I studied quite a few of the Alex Ross covers that he produced for the comic run before painting him. I really liked the idea of having the glowing green eyes, which gives him a more eldritch and sinister look than we're accustomed to seeing with Hulk. I added some bricks and rubble to the base - which is already really well sculpted off the sprue - to strengthen the overall feeling of motion and power in the model. The bin is an element of the model that a lot of people seem to particularly enjoy.

He was awarded a Gold in the Monster Category (Standard) at the Miniature Painting Open Online 2023, which I was very surprised and flattered to receive. I'm immensely proud of what I managed to achieve with this lad.
