Redemption - 2024
Work: Painting
Scale 1/24, Pedro Fernandez Works

In private collection.

Early 2024 feels like a year where I tackle a lot of projects I started during teaching and finishing them. This beautiful, small and fragile bust by one of my favourite sculptors was a great character to paint up! Hope you like her!

Attached you can see photos on grey background, plus size comparision to a bottle of paint, plus a photo in the cabinet beside other figures to provide a true sense of how this small bust looks.

Keep on happy painting!

I’ve always felt this sort of division in the bust - on one side you have the bat, which feels threatening of violence and on the other you have a book/bible in hand supporting a more peaceful approach. But with her smirk on the face, you feel a little bit of a tension. And combined together you have a story. And to me, you managed to compliment the story great, as usual. I really like the tattoos, as they are very well integrated and do not feel that they stand out. Another lovely observation is the lovely green tones in the shadows. :-)

Thanks! Absolutely, his work is genius and with traditional sculpting it looks so sp good compared to many 3d sculpts. Not all of them, there are good ones too, but Pedro is on a differenr level.

I really like this one a lot.  It never appealed to me to paint this model but seeing your version has made me want to consider it.  It really pulls me in and makes me want to keep looking.

Thank you very much, David. Always happy when you like my pieces. It is a really cool sculpt that unfolds tons of character. Thank you!

    Gold!

Nice (or Nasty) bunny you have painted here. You have captured the bad side of this bunny really nice. Love the green screen skin that takes my though toward the orc universe and makes he an even more bad bunny!

Thank you, Paul. Really happy that you like my version of her. I would even say the greenish look was not intentional. I went for a blue environment that influances all my shadows and then the ochre skin did the rest to green :D

    A very stylized work
