Updating Your 80's Tamiya Plastic Figure
I can say that is finished. I really enjoyed. The old Tamiya Japanese Soldier from the Set 35090 at last got his place in my vitrine. A lot of memories and nostalgia for the old good days that we had a few plastic figures in the market to play with. I was motivated from the new release of the Japanese Head with tropical helmets WWII (37241) from FC Model Trend. I made the tropical plant using the leaves form ETA Diorama Accessories Set 104 and enrich the base groundwork. All the painting was done using Green Stuff Paints and Mediums. The part of the ready-made soil is coming from a big grass mat from Model Scene that I cut to size. Finally, I did not use matt varnish as the leaves of the plants look realistically as they are. All paints are from Green Stuff World and I used them for first time! They applied very well and I used also The Master Medium that is an Awesome Product. Making the acrylics to behave a little like oils....

The overall scene works wonders for me! It is a very cool vignette. With the dirt, plants and the soldier! I really like it. Unfortunately, the face is hidden and the pose of the sculpt hinders it a little bit down to me, as we see only the back or a little bit of the face. So for me, this is a very hard mini to paint. But it looks awesome!

Dear Stepan, thank for your comments and for your vote. The new head from FC Model Trend was test fitted before painting. Then I painted the head separately and I glued it very carefully on the torso. Always action shooting scenes hide most of the face. But I did this scene as I was inspired from the new version of the sun helmets that recently released. Also I did it just for fun and without thinking a lot of changes (as to make the palms hold the rifle better…I tried but the old plastic was very stiff and I lost a part of the small finger…I corrected it later..
