The bust of Tywin Lannister from NutsPlanet that I painted in December 2014. I finally got around to taking photos of it after moving to Australia. It is my first bust.
Thanks everyone. I’ve since tried the Roman Matrona bust from Pegaso and run into a few issues. It’s very different than painting Tywin. He has texture on his face and it doesn’t matter if a few areas are a little rougher than others since he’s older. But the Matrona looks like a young woman with flawless skin. And I don’t paint much by airbrush. I’ve shelved her for the moment. However, now that we have a space for our airbrush set up permanently, I may break her back out and get the general shading and highlighting done on her.
I had a lot of fun working on Tywin. I am very proud of him. I am not sure why I didn’t pick up a bust sooner in my 11 years of painting. My favorite part of painting miniatures is the face.
