The last defender
This is my first serious project and marks the beginning of my journey into becoming a better painter.

The model is the old barbarian from black sun miniatures. I imagined this old viking not being chosen to raid a far away shore and left at home at the end of the winter to defend the women and children. But since he always was a proud warrior, he shows that he can take the chill of the air without needing to cover himself and uses the old weapons of his family like in a hundred battles before.

That's the reason why i painted the skin a bit pinkier than usual, to reflect the shivers he feels, and the weapons so damaged.

I want to thank Francesco Farabi for all the precious advices he gave to me. He's an outstanding mentor and a good friend (and chef).
