"We walked through the thick jungle, feeling the cold and the humidity of the night hitting my face; the darkness embraced us all. We could perceive the artificial lights of the devastating fire that preceded us appearing through the thick trees.. everything was silent, except for the crackle of the flames that enveloped what had once been a village full of people. there was no sign of any living being, everything was calm, the most tense calm that ever experienced."
I filmed this sketch a couple of years ago for "painting buddha" Something that probably will never be released, unfortunately..About 3 or 4 hours of work.
This is exactly a perfect example of my philosophy. I know is just an ambiance excercise but I am super happy with it. because I enjoyed the process a lot and i feel that it end up being a beautiful and fresh concept art. at least thats how I perceive it..I know is not the typical "finished artwork taht many people are more used to see but to me something is finished as soon as it fullfill me and as soon as it looks beautiful to my eyes..I hope some of you like it.
I know this guy it is supposed to be an american IIWW soldier. but I really dont care too much about historical accuracy.Sorry if this offends anyone. is just a beautioful sculpt and i wanted to created something interesting painting for a painting tutorial and it was a freestyle exercise. The image of him crossing the jungle in the darkness affected by any kind of artificial fire.thats all.
