This is a massive sculpture and quite heavy. Romain started sculpting her, it in his class in Brisbane, Australia 1.5 years ago. When I saw it in his studio last year, almost finished I fell in love with it. So much so, that when he displayed it at SMC in 2018 I bought it on the spot. It is limited to 50 units due to the size and I think he is releasing it at the end of this month.

Anyway, I wanted something that was colourful but muted so her characterful face would be the focus. I wanted her to look as if she was ancient, weathered by sun, wind, and salt. I am yet to decide whether she will cook the puffin or it is her friend ;-)
